John started his musical career at the age of five when he accepted requests to play

a toy accordion at Christmas.  After taking piano lessons throughout his childhood,

he received further instruction from Cortlandt Koonts at Erskine College, where

he studied organ performance. John enjoys playing instruments in the

various churches he visits.  His most memorable performances are those

at Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s Cathedral, London.  John has served

Trinity Episcopal Church since 1998.

The Right Rev. Daniel P. Richards is the Eighth Bishop of the

Diocese of Upper SC. He embraces Benedictine spirituality and describes himself

as a voracious reader, writer, and runner. A native of Goodman, Mississippi,

the Rev. Richards, and his wife delight in being outdoors with their two daughters

and their son.
